Acorns Reviews

Stephen
This was the first time that we have stopped there and we were very pleased with all of the place it was very clean and tidy and the hot tub was very clean and they came and checked the water every day and we probably stop here again. The shops were only a short drive away and I would recommend it to anyone who would like a good relaxing time and it was dog friendly. From Mr & Mrs Harris from Birmingham
Lovely place everything you need, nice and comfy. Overall very happy would highly recommend
Russell
Excellent property. Easy to find. Hot tub maintained every day. Lovely welcome pack of food essentials. 5 star recommendation. Dog friendly. Treats supplied. Owner came around and anything we needed they supplied.
Leslie
We enjoyed our stay at Acorns, it was very peaceful and the hot tub was a bonus at the end of the day, with towels and slippers provided. The kitchen had everything you need. The only niggle was that the side garden wasnt really dog friendly and would benefit from a good trim back of the bushes and trees etc to make it more useable.
We stayed from the 13th June until 20th, we were amazed at how well equipped it was, very clean, comfy beds. Very friendly and will certainly be back, absolutely wonderful place to stay
Great accommodation with a hot tub. Located with in way reach of the locatal attractions
Catherine
2nd visit here will definitely return Great location and very comfortable to stay in. Would highly recommend
Robert
Excellent place, really cleverly laid out. Loved the deck and the hot tub.
We stayed at Acorns for a week 27th sept 4th Oct We had a fabulous week, the cottage has everything thing you need. We did not meet the owners throughout our stay, but I'm sure they would've been available if we needed them as they live above the cottage. There is no bath as advertised. Lots of info left on local walks, which we appreciated. Hot tub was amazing, especially after a day of walking. Our dog loved exploring the garden. Lovely local pub just a few yards away, had the best Sunday lunch ever in here The only thing that could be added to improve this lovely cottage would be some lights going down the driveway as its very dark at night, so need a torch. We would definitely stay again as we had such a lovely relaxing week.
Great accommodation, hot tub and location. Only suggestions would be a wifi booster as the signal is very weak, an additional lamp in the lounge for a cosier feel...as opposed to using the overhead lights. We loved our stay at Acorns and would fully recommend it to anyone wanting a relaxing stay in North Wales.
Sandra
Great place to stay quiet and the outside area great would go again There is ... Great place to stay quiet and the outside area great would go again There is a pub a short walk away very friendly and nice food
Kayleigh
Lovely place, very clean and tidy. Unfortunately no bath although there was one in the pictures. Not sure if it was us but could not get the shower to stay at a constant temperature, however didn't take away from the Beautiful surroundings. Great local pub 2 mins up the road and layout was great with a child. Would come again.
Very clean, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The hot tub and outside area were very nice. Acorns is situated in a fantastic location, with many places to visit nearby. We went to Talacre Beach, Prestatyn, Llandudno, Holywell Shrine, and Chester, all within 3 days.
Lovely secluded accommodation, nice little garden to chill and have breakfast in the morning and a beautiful welcoming hamper, the bread and cheese were superb.
The accommodation was delightful, it is a lovely find. Lovely and clean, we didn't venture too far as we just wanted to be away from it all. Everything we needed was there. Comfortable clean and the bread was delicious.. Go on... book it you won't be disappointed.. the hot tub was fabulous..

Just returned from the Acorns 10th to the 17th of May. Had a really nice stay even though there were a few teething issues. One of the toilets blocked whilst there but Jason resolved the problem within a day or so. The accommodation has everything you need including a washing machine thanks for sorting it before we arrived. The hot tub was brilliant and so relaxing on the veranda . The double bed was extremely comfortable and we slept very well. I feel like we're cursed as the shower hose split and the cord to the blinds in the bedroom snapped as well whilst there but didn't affect our stay in any way. We really had a chilled time
Elaine
Overall, top marks for the accommodation met the owners & locals, couldnt be friendlier such a tranquil location & not far from the main towns if need be, we cant speak highly enough about our weekend the local pub was less than 5 mins walk, definitely recommend the food there is a guide in the accommodation with all you need to know from the owners they have literally thought of everything including a few little nice touches like the welcome food tray & slippers for getting out of the hot tub excellent, were looking to return next year. Thank you so much.
Washing machine was broken it would have nice to know before we got there. Could do with a WiFi booster as couldnt get WiFi outside. These are very small things overall a very pleasant stay.
Lovely cottage, nice & clean. Nice welcome basket & treats for the dog. Outside area with hot tub excellent, used it everyday. Nice pub just up the road & dog friendly
Absolutely fantastic. Spotlessly clean. Had a fantastic few days. Will definitely be back & would highly recommend.
Really enjoyed are short stay, accommodation was very clean and the hot tub was fantastic and under cover. Nice pub just up the road with great food.
Michelle
Michelle , We had a lovely week there and really enjoyed it. The owners are nice and friendly people and very helpful, would definitely stay there again. Also the pub up the road serves really nice food .
We had a fantastic stay at Acorns, the lodge itself was immaculate. It had everything you needed for a great stay, the hot tub was fantastic way to relax after walking all day. The pub up the road Glan yr Afron Inn is also great, the locals are very friendly and they are dog friendly. Perfect stay, we can't wait to book again!

This cottage is in a great location for visiting North Wales. Selling point for us is the covered verandah and decking which housed the hot tub, outside table and chairs, double swinging seat. So even on the days when the weather was drizzling with rain, we were still able to enjoy the outside space. The cottage is cosy and spacious. The warm air radiators are lovely and responsive should you need them to take the chill off on a cold wet day. Welcome basket was a very nice touch and very generous too with fresh baked bread, shortbread, kettle chips, bottle of wine, coffee, welsh butter and cheese. A couple of small issues were quickly dealt with by the lovely hosts, there was an essential item missing from the kitchen which was rectified almost immediately. I would like to see a couple more dishes in the kitchen, maybe supply enough for 6, then there is always extra dishes to use for serving up etc. and a colander would have been useful small things that would make life a little easier if you want to cook and eat in. But that didnt detract from our enjoyment. The best compliment we could pay is to say that we would return to the lovely Acorns cottage.
Alfonso
We would like to say that our stay was so enjoyable. The location and accommodation was superb. The owners being on site was a bonus and both friendly and welcoming. We would recommend this to anyone. One recommendation maybe would be a fly net on the entrance as when we were there we did keep the door open during the day because of the warm weather. Apart from that we could not fault the place.
Mhairi
Acorns was perfect for us! It was lovely and clean and everything we needed during our stay. We had the loveliest welcome basket filled with lots of lovely fresh local produce bread was amazing. Beau wasn't left out either with a tin of doggy treats and a basket of toys and blanket, he was a happy pup! The decking area and hot tub was fantastic. Honestly couldn't fault anything, area was lovely and lots of doggy friendly places to visit too. Beau loved the garden area, always new smells for him to investigate lol. We would highly recommend Acorns to everyone.
Brilliant, very relaxing, everything we wanted
Victoria

Acorns is such a beautiful place to stay. Great location, very clean and homely. The hot tub was amazing and the little basket of goodies were a lovely touch. There is a pub up the hill which is within 2 minutes walking distance and plenty to do only a car journey away we visited Chester Zoo and Zip World which we highly recommend Thank you for a lovely stay!
Linsey
The property is nestled away in the quiet market town of Holywell and boasts an inviting decking area that is ideal for lounging around, listening to the birds and enjoying quality time with family. It is shaded so that you dont need to worry about your pooch andor children being in direct sun. The hot tub is particularly inviting in the evenings with inbuilt mood lighting and soothing jets providing a sense of luxury and hint of romance if thats your jam. The location is near a pubrestaurant and a short distance to local attractions. Just 20 30 minutes drive, you will find beaches, well stocked fishing lakes and Chester Zoo. The owners are very welcoming and take great pride in ensuring that your holiday is relaxed and enjoyable.
Suzanne
The holiday home was perfect, very nicely presented, clean, comfortable and everything we needed. The veranda and garden was perfect for Kobi our dog and we enjoyed the hot tub. Highly recommend it.
William
First of all, we had a friendly warm welcome on arrival. Thereafter it was non intrusive, however we knew we could access information if required at any time. The property is spacious, clean with all amenities on hand. An extra surprise on arrival which were provided, was bread, butter and local savouries. A very pleasant relaxing stay and a good base for travelling to nearby towns & villages. Would highly recommend.
Stewart
