Red Kites Retreat is a luxurious 5-star barn conversion perched high in the hills of North Wales, just 6 miles south of Conwy. This spectacular property offers jaw-dropping mountain views that'll make your Instagram followers weep with jealousy. The steep, narrow access lane might test your driving skills, but trust me - what waits at the top is worth every hairpin turn.

The surrounding countryside is pure Welsh magic. Hiking trails wind through the hills and you're perfectly positioned to explore both mountains and coast. Stargazing from the hot tub is practically mandatory - with minimal light pollution, you'll see more stars than you knew existed.

Wow, we just got back from our stay at Red Kites Retreat and honestly, I felt compelled to leave a review. I don't usually do reviews, but this place really deserves it - truly 5 stars! The cottage was gorgeous, with breathtaking views that made everything so relaxing. Lucy, the owner, was super helpful and friendly the whole time. Honestly, there's not a single negative thing I can say. We'll definitely be coming back. Thanks a lot, Lucy! :)
Emma
We had a fantastic stay at this cosy cottage tucked away in a peaceful spot with breathtaking views of the hills and mountains. The drive up the steep, narrow road was a bit nerve-wracking, but once we arrived, it was totally worth it. The hot tub was a real highlight for the kids! The place was bright, warmand well-equipped with all the pots, pansand crockery we needed. The three bedrooms, especially the two ensuite onesand the comfy sofas made it feel like a home away from home. We'd definitely come back!
Michael

The bedrooms and living space are super spacious and spotless, with comfy sofas that make relaxing easy. The kitchen's got plenty of roomand it's just a short drive to Conwy. Highly recommend for a peaceful getaway!

At first, the steep track looks a bit intimidating, but it actually adds to the adventure! Once at the top, those breathtaking views are totally worth the climb. The house was really comfortable and had everything we needed, including towels for the hot tub. We loved how the outdoor space is spread across different levels, offering plenty of seating options-perfect for socialising or some quiet time. The hot tub was a real highlight, so easy to use and well placed. Meeting Lucy, the owner, was lovely-super friendly and helpful. Definitely a great stay!

The cottage was spot on for a relaxing break, with a well-stocked kitchen and a hot tub that's perfect at night, especially with the lights on. The rural pathway to get there could do with a trim, but the stunning views more than made up for it. Lucy was really helpful with everything we needed, so all in all, a lovely stay!

This cottage really hit the spot for us. The views are absolutely breathtaking, just what we hoped for in the middle of nowhere. The long drive up the track was a hit with the kids, though my partner wasn't so keen! We loved exploring the land around, especially paddling in the stream and trying the rope swing. It's a perfect spot for family fun and games, exactly what we needed. Honestly, we wish we'd booked longer-only a week wasn't enough! Definitely a great find for a peaceful break.
Mark
We had a brilliant time in this beautiful location. However, for those who aren't as adventurous, the road and track leading to it might be a bit of a hassle.
Emily
What a beautiful cottage - the decor was lovely and the beds were the best we've ever slept in at a holiday property! The views are absolutely stunning, making the narrow, steep drive to the property totally worthwhile. So peaceful - just the sounds of the surrounding wildlife. The hot tub was great, with amazing views over to the hills and Snowdon to the left, plus a lovely wood burner to keep things cosy on those autumnal evenings. We will definitely be coming back!
Linda
We had a great week and made the most of the hot tub every day. The views were marvellous! I was a bit surprised to find the downstairs bedroom had two single beds, as that wasn't clear when we booked. We went out daily and had a blast exploring North Wales. There's so much to see and do.
Karen
Cottage was beautiful, location was breathtaking with views of the Snowdonia mountain range. Very quiet location ideal for a peaceful retreat. Great location for getting to lots of walking areas. Hot tub is an excellent addition and very inviting after a busy day. Very relaxing weekend had by all.
