4 Pen Y Mynydd Reviews

Verified Good and Bad Likes TV in every room. Comfy beds Nice showersbathrooms Lovely kitchen and living room. Good playground for kids Dislikes Main problem was no outside bins, which meant all refuge was stored for weeks in the adjoining garage, which gave off a horrible stench to the kitchen. Not able to use the barbecue, due to neighbours complaining about smoke. Not able to use hot tub after 9pm , due to previous complaints by neighbour about noise. Not able to use garden as it hadn't been cut. Decking has loose boards, uneven and needs treating. Even though none of us smoked, the cigarette box outside was full with stubs falling out on the decking. A lovely house on the whole, but we did feel we were restricted because what had gone on with previous visitors, which was not our fault. Kind regards Paul Date of experience 11 April 2025

Absolutely disgusting property from the moment we arrived there were problems, TVs not working dust everywhere, dirty socks left in the pool room, shower in the attic leaked through to the middle floor, stains on the mattress. . the door on the kids park area was broke and blew off in the wind and nearly hit one of our kids the list was endless.. the owner after we stayed then offered us compensation then after a week trying to get in touch with her blocked mine and my partners number after being rude on the phone to us.. we wasnt allowed to use the BBQ as neighbours complained after saying on the website we could.. I would not recommend this property to anyone and none of the owners other properties for that matter either.. we felt like we spent our full weekend cleaning as the property was as not clean at all!!!

This property was exactly what we were after. Amazing from arrival to departure. Hosts even got in contact to see how things were and update us on a few things at the property. Great location for a 60th birthday celebration with the family. Would recommend this property and would happily return.
Beautiful big house 2 reception rooms which was great. Plenty of room to park 4 cars. The garden was great for the 2 dogs. The house just needs a bit of maintaining and a deep clean. We all had a lovely time and would defo go back again
Beautiful house, we enjoyed our stay, the property was plenty big enough for all of us and the facilities were great. The hot tub we couldnt use after the second time as the chlorine was causing reactions to the skin and very sore eyes. It was too strong so we didnt use again. The tv in the hot tub room didnt work, and No gas to the bbq which we planned to use for burgers and hot dogs for us all the first night but we managed fine with the kitchen ovens. There were bulbs out in the living room and some of the remote controls didnt work, wifi was hit and miss and we struggled sometimes with Netflix pausing and buffering. Fixtures and fittings there were missing tie back ends and wobbly or lose fittings in several rooms which just needed maintenance. The cleanliness overall was ok but we noticed a lot of cobwebs and dust lying around. Carpets need a really strong hoovering and especially around the skirting board edges. Under the sofas in the living room theres a lot of rubbish thats not been cleaned from previous people who have stayed when you open the recliners. Plenty of parking available and appreciated the extra dining table for us to use so we could all eat together. The kids loved the play area which was one of the main reasons for us booking.
Great Property and is one of very few properties that is actually better when there than in pictures. Our second stay in a few months and would highly recommend. Great facilities, everything could want and more. Stunning all round. Emma is great host and very quick at replying to any questions we had. Great location to explore the area. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely weekend and an amazing stay, only negative we would say if being very very particular the hot tub television wouldn't connect so we wasn't able to use but that was very minor and we soon got over that. We all loved every minute of our stay.

We have just returned from spending Xmas week at the property. The house is spacious and in a beautiful location. We were disappointed with the lack of Xmas decorations. Just one small xmas tree in the living room, it didn't feel very festive. The first thing we noticed was the lack of cleaning or poor attempt at it. Dishwasher not emptied and food remains at the bottom. Mould in both kitchen bins. Food left in freezer. Cobwebs in corners of rooms. Bedding left in washing machine. I actually hovered upon arrival it was that bad. Found sweets and wrappers in living room. Maintenance issues were Kitchen door stop fell off, Kitchen pan lining peeling off, 2 kitchen spotlights hanging off onto floor, hot tub had way too much chlorine in so couldnt use as it burned our eyes, no instructions for heating systems, grey bedroom 1st floor had concrete bits all over the floor where sealant was coming off, same bedroom shower floods, whirlpool bath jets have mould in them so when it turned on the bath had black bits floating around. All toothbrush holders unclean and couldnt be used. Hot tap dispenser didn't work first night and no back up kettle. Took photos of all issues. It could be a great house but for the money we spent it really wasn't upto standard and worth the cost. We go away alot and first time we've been disappointed with a property.
Thanks for a lovely stay at your stunning property everything was perfect
Great property, We went to celebrate my wifes 40th birthday with friends. There are a few maintenance issues need looking at but didnt ruin the stay. We couldnt connect the tv in the hot tub area to WiFi. Emma had someone come over to fix a door handle and drop off an electric heater for the top single bedroom. The piano was a hit and the hot tub was enjoyed by all.

Lovely house with lots of modern technology. Lots of space for a big party. Play area and huge hot tub was enjoyed during our stay. Communication with the owner was excellent. Couple of minor maintenance issues which were addressed in a timely manner. We did pre plan to use BBQ but unfortunately gas was not available,so if you wish todo so I would speak to the owner Emma first, who is very approachable. Surrounding beautiful views of Colwyn Bay, which is a short drive away as is the Mountain zoo. All in all loved our stay, thankyou again

The house was perfect for a large extended family holiday and the location was ideal. The hot tub and childrens play area were amazing and very much appreciated. One of the reasons we booked the house was because it had an electric car charger. Unfortunately this did not work, the owner said it would be fixed, it wasnt and although I chased it up they did not get back to us. We tried to charge in the area but there were no chargers available, which meant my daughter was not able to use her car as she had to conserve the battery until she could get to the services on the way home. Also it would be helpful to supply a hairdryer, if there was one we couldnt find it!
The house was lovely plenty of room for us all and very clean and comfortable. The kids loved the play area. The only downside was there were one or two maintenance issues but nothing that spoiled our holiday and I would certainly stay here again and recommend to others.
Daniel
Lovely property in a beautiful location. Loads of space for our party of 14 to enjoy. Bedrooms really comfortable. Hosts really couldn't have been any more helpful. Right from the start of our booking nothing was too much. Would definitely stay again.
Claire
Stunning property with lots to offer and loads of facilities for all ages that you need to feel at home. There were some maintenance issues with the wine cooler burning out and tripping the electrics whilst we'd been out for the day. Owner offered timely fix sending an electrician, however, it did mean the hot tub became a cold tub at the time we were planning on using it and the fridge was no longer cold with our food and drinks in. There are a few other defects that might require some attention such as the top floor twin bedroom doesn't shut and the blinds in the back room double don't open sufficiently as the cords appear broken. The bbq was also very dirty on arrival. We cleaned it best we could to use it as we'd planned for a bbq but it wasn't a nice job. Overall the property is a great size for a larger group. Plenty of space but felt homely still. The street it is on is really pleasant and greats views to the sea from the top floor sky lights. Garden area is spacious and the children's play area was well used.

This property is set in a stunning location. We booked for our 50th golden wedding anniversary celebration. We were not disappointed. The house is beautiful and our family stay was enjoyed from start to finish. All the facilities offered added to the enjoyment, our grandchildren loved the play area, garden and the jacuzzi. We couldn't operate the karaoke so instructions would have helped. The kitchen equipment was quality and our family loved the novelty of no kettle, grandchildren loved the chilled water on tap. I would recommend a chopping board to protect the work tops. We would put this house on our families list to revisit. We had a fabulous stay.
Avoid at all cost. I am absolutely gutted I booked this for my partner for his 30th paid over 1,500 and it was not what we expected at all! The women told me if was clean and ready for her to go as we asked for early check in the house didnt even look like it had been cleaned. No disinfectant was left, no clothes, no tea towel, no dishwasher tables. The wine cooler didnt work, the fridge wasnt attached to the door so every time we had to get into the fridge it was trapping our fingers as the gap between that and the freezer was too small. The plug in the shower was full of hair the water didnt drain so it flooded the bathroom and we had to use all the towel for that. The dryer didnt work, it comes on but doesnt get hot so nothing dried. I put my daughter in the jacuzzi bath and as soon as I turned in on the black was covered with hair and black mould. The bath in the main bathroom wouldnt stay full as the plug were fitted properly and there was a leak in the bathroom. After I got in bed late and woke up in the morning I was aware I had been sleeping in a bed with someone elses blood in it. This is absolutely disgusting and apparently these things happen. I expect bed sheets and bedding to be changed at a least. The blind didnt work as they were remote ones and the curtains werent black out so the room stayed late which isnt great with children. There were slugs in the downstairs toilet and a gas leak in the bbq room. My brother in law burnt his hand and she didnt even ask if he was ok and just said I wouldnt know if there was a gas leak. The tvs didnt work as they werent connected and we had to sort the electrics out as they kept tripping. When I made her aware of these issue she said her partner would be round who never showed up. She didnt take any responsibility for these matters and has no customer service skills! I hope Sykes makes sure these will all be sorted before another family goes there and has the same problems we did. It isnt fair.
Very quiet location. Superb clean house with 8 fantastic bedrooms. The beds were so comfy. The facilities were amazing, tvs, ninja cooker, piano, karaoke machine, hot water machine, heated floor tiles etc. The jacuzzi was top of the range and much needed due to the bad weather. And there was a very good playground for the children. The owner was amazing. All you need for a fantastic stay.
Wow, what an incredible stay we had! This house definitely lives up to the pictures. The location was perfect not to far from anywhere with a picturesque view to the sea. I was quite blown away with the amount facilities they have there, definitely enough to keep you satisfied. The host nick and Emma where great, they was very helpful and friendly throughout the stay. If you are looking for anywhere in north wales to stay I would 100 recommend to anyone.
